Building the Future of Education
Samsung is bringing technology to the classroom to create a new learning experience.
The Classroom of the Future
Samsung School helps educators discover new avenues for students to learn and educators to inspire. Developed to address the need for an integrated solution that would enable dynamic instruction, interaction and collaboration, it caters to the broad vision that educators around the world share for their schools:
• To provide a more engaging
and personalized educational experience
• To nurture a professional, highly skilled teaching staff that
helps students reach their full potential
• To manage their schools in an efficient and cost-effective
manner
Implementing the Philosophy That Technology Can Improve Education
Teachers can utilize Samsung School to customize instruction on the spot and deliver digital content in real time. The Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet, with its touch screen interactivity and advanced S Pen™ capabilities, is ideal for student note taking and creative projects, while the interactive whiteboard provides a collaborative centerpiece for the class. In the first U.S. pilot of Samsung School in Memphis, TN, Geeter Middle School’s 6th grade math class students gravitated to the technology immediately and became re-energized about coming to school and asking questions–creating a more participatory, interactive learning environment . Built on the philosophy that technology can improve education, Samsung School affords students with a new language for learning that inspires attendance, engagement and achievement..
Crossing the Desert of Language
Another recent U.S. deployment of Samsung School at a rural district in Eloy, Arizona further illustrates the benefits of the technology. Eloy Elementary School District chose the Samsung School collaborative technology solution to help the future generation of this rural community cross the digital divide.. In fall 2013, the district began rolling out Samsung School to approximately 350 students spanning grades 4, 5 and 6 at Eloy Intermediate School. Incorporating the 1:1 deployment of Galaxy Note 10.1 tablets with LED-lit interactive whiteboards and wireless MFPs, all tied together with the powerful Samsung School classroom management software, teachers and students are able interact in new ways that have already proven to be valuable to the learning experience.
Preparing Students for a Brighter Future
The introduction of Samsung School at the beginning of Eloy Intermediate School’s 2013 school year saw immediate gains in student attendance and engagement. Students were eager to get started using the technology and school leadership predicts an increase in student enrollment thanks to excitement the technology has created. And with teachers professionally charged, it has brought the school closer to its goals of immersing students in technology that will inspire them to dream of a brighter future as they are able to compete at a global level and prepare for higher education and the 21st century workforce.
